Croutons (Oil Free)

These oil free crunchy croutons are a great topper for salads or soups! They can easily be seasoned to your desired flavor profile and you can use any type of bread that you choose. Crunchy and delicious!

Equipment

  • 1 Large baking tray
  • Parchment Paper
  • Spray Bottle

Ingredients

  • 1 Loaf Bread of choice
  • 1 Spray Bottle filled with water
  • ½ tsp Garlic, granulated (optional)
  • ½ tsp Onion, granulated (optional)

Instructions

  • Pre heat oven to 375 °F
  • Cut the loaf of bread into 1 inch slices. Cut each slice into 1 inch cubes.
  • Spread all of the bread cubes on a parchment lined baking tray.
  • Spray lightly with water.
  • Sprinkle any seasoning you like over the bread cubes.
  • Place the baking tray in the oven on the rack just above the middle rack.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes. Remove the tray from the oven. Turn the bread cubes, spray lightly and add seasonings if desired.
  • Return the tray to the oven. Bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Check the bread cubes for color and crispness every 10-15 minutes. I find it usually takes about 45 minutes for them to get crispy.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

***To store unused croutons-place in an air tight freezer bag and place cooled croutons in freezer for up to 3 months.
