Marinara Sauce

This is a quick and easy sweet marinara sauce, ready in just 15 minutes! I like my sauce sweet because after all a tomato is a fruit, right? Kids also love this sauce because of the sweetness.

Equipment

  • 1 Medium Sauce Pan

Ingredients

  • 1 -14.5 oz can Tomato Sauce (low sodium or no sodium)
  • 1 -14.5 oz can Tomatoes, diced (low sodium or no sodium)
  • 1-2 TBSP Maple Syrup
  • 2 tsp Basil, dried
  • 1 tsp Oregano, dried
  • 1 ½ tsp Garlic, granulated

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a medium saucepan.
  • Heat on medium to medium high heat. Bring to a slight boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer about 10-15 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings accordingly.
  • Serve when heated through.
  • Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Notes

****Taste and adjust seasonings to your personal preferences!.
***If you like a thicker sauce, just add 2 Tbsp of tomato paste and add about 10 minutes to the cook time to allow the liquid to evaporate.
