Mulling Spices
This combination of spices conjures up images and warm fuzzy feelings of past fall seasons! This combination can be used with apple cider, pear cider or even wine! A spice ball is recommended to hold the spices in the liquid, but if you don't have one, you can use some cheesecloth and a food safe string. A hit for any fall gathering!

- Medium Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 C Cinnamon sticks, crushed
- 2 TBSP Whole Cloves (plus 2 tsp!)
- â…” C Orange Zest, dried ( plus 2 TBSP!)
- 4 TBSP All Spice Berries
- 1 Star Anise, Crushed
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into the mixing bowl and stir to combine.
- Store in an airtight container.
- 2 TBSP of mulling spices in a tea ball heated in a small saucepan with 4 C of cider.
- For larger quantities, use 1/4 C of mulling spices for every 1/2 gallon of cider.
- For a gallon of cider, use 1/2 C of mulling spices. You can warm the cider and mulling spices in a crockpot as well. Heat through for about 1 hour on medium and then if it is hot enough, reduce the heat to low or warm for serving.
